The subject of fear is dear to my heart. I find it is a limiting factor in so much that we do. How many people will not parachute or hang glide because of fear. How many people lay on there death bed praying in hopes that they can make amends before they go to the after life.

A life without fear would be an exciting if short life. Fear is the emotion that keeps us from doing stupid things and getting ourselves killed. But the wisdom of life is that we have fear balanced. Fear is not balanced by bravery, Bravery is the act of overcoming fear. Fear is balanced by Love, and Friendship. How much fear goes away from the eyes of a child when their mother takes their hand and holds it.

The standards for all CAWs are in the sticky. The actual challenge with specifics to it are left to the discretion of the host.

This was a productive weekend. My partner and I assembled all our puzzle pieces and discovered they fit well enough that we dared to send it to the person we felt would be our harshest critic.

Thanks for the welcome and detailed explanation. April is plenty of time to get some ideas flowing. I do remember when the story side had a bit of a dry spell- I've been frequenting since before stories was ever up! Had to settle for lame Literotica prior.

It is extremely welcoming- many writers have messaged me to suggest CAW. I am excited and a little nervous.

How is it that I've never seen the caw winner's circle till now? I mean, I know I have zero situational awareness but lately I've been basically living in the story section. You'd think I would have noticed it before. Shees, pixy, get a grip. (Rolls eyes.)

Anyway, I have to say some of the early winners surprised me. Not all of them, but quite a few. I think its nice - like a hall of fame. Where's that place in hollywood where the celebs gets there own star on the sidewalk?

Anyway, yeah. That place.

I think I'll go have a look at the early stories of recent winners. See how the writers progressed and grew.

Pixie - it will become rather easier to find as I am putting a link to THAT thread as well as the Story Reviews thread in the list for Recommended Writers. The reason that it drops out of sight is that the thread is closed to conversation.

I am also following in the footsteps of DC (?) who consistently had an updated list at the top of each new forum page so the links will continue to be easy to find.

 

That's a lot of work, darthel, but I believe a lot of people will thank you for it. Linking the Winner's Circle thread is a good idea. I suggest the hosts of future CAWs do it too in their threads to show potential writers what their peers have done in the past.

Pixy, I'm not sure you'll see that much change going down memory lane, in terms of what early winners did then compared to what they do now. CAW entrants and winners have come and gone. The most frequent winner, ejls, has broadened her repertoire over the last few years, but if would be difficult to say that her new stories are "better" than her old ones. Go read her oldest posted story. It's pretty damn good. This woman hit the ground running, and she hasn't stopped. ahorsewithnoname is another one. He's always good. Sometimes his stories are more popular than others, but when he writes on a subject people like, he wins. He'd done it a couple times.

Speaking of former CAW winners and participants, has anyone heard anything about either ELaken-Palmer or JackassTales? Both disappeared suddenly. Emerson may have left for greener pastures, but I'm concerned about our horny old dog Jack.

 

WSF - I have not seen any posts by JATales for some time, and as for ELP the last I heard from him was on a matter concerning one of the CAW outcomes - I think it was CAW 12.

Other than that nothing from either of them.

I know Dizzy comes through the forum to read every now and then, has anyone heard from him though?

 

I'm also worried about JadeM. She hasn't been online in about a month. If anybody has any outside contact with her, and knows what's going on, will you please let me know if she's ok? I'm really concerned about her. Just send me a PM if you can.

 

Yes, that was me who started the list. I stopped updating it when I took my hiatus from XNXX, so I'm glad you took it upon yourself to continue the tradition.
