Aldi Has Our Favorite Storage Containers for Half Their Usual Price

Food waste doesn’t just happen when you forget about the leftovers in the fridge or those (now slimy) greens you bought with the best intentions. It can happen to the food in your pantry, too. While canned goods can go past their best-by dates, the ingredients primarily used for baking—like flour, sugar, baking soda, and baking powder—can go rancid or lose their potency.

If you’re not an avid baker and regularly using those ingredients, discovering one of them has gone bad when you go to make the occasional cake or batch of cookies can be a real bummer. So, proper storage to extend freshness is of the utmost importance.

Ranking high on our favorite food storage container list is ProKeeper, a line of clear, airtight containers that feature extras, like pourable spouts, built-in measuring scoops, and terra-cotta disks to keep sugar from lumping. However, a five-piece set is pricey, costing about $70. But this week, Aldi is selling two of these containers for a price we haven't seen anywhere.

ProKeeper Storage Containers at Aldi

Starting April 2, Aldi is selling two ProKeeper storage containers in its Finds aisle. The ProKeeper Cookie Storage Container is available for $12.99 (compared to more than $23 in other places), and the ProKeeper Flour Storage Container is also $12.99 (compared to more than $27).

Both ProKeeper containers feature airtight silicone seals and a snap lid. The cookie container has a terra-cotta disk that snaps into the lid to prolong freshness, and the flour container provides a magnetic leveler that doubles as a bench scraper.

Aldi is known to have some of the best and most affordable copycats of popular kitchen items. So, in addition to the lower-priced ProKeeper containers, Aldi is also selling some look-alikes of the same brand this week under its Crofton label, each for $6.99.

The Crofton sugar container is intended for granulated sugar and features a spout to make pouring easy. Designed to keep brown sugar from hardening, the Crofton brown sugar container includes a terra-cotta disk. And finally, the tinted Crofton coffee container has a built-in measuring scoop, ideal for beans or grounds.

Like all of the great Aldi Finds, these containers are on sale for just one week or until sold out. We suggest you hop on these containers to prep for all that spring baking.
